The advent of the Internet age has revolutionized our way of life. Its global reach has greatly enhanced our abilities to gather information, communicate and engage in e-commerce. Sadly though, many people have exploited the immense potential of the on line world for illegal activities and made it an instrument for fraud, theft, software piracy and a tool through which they can harm your computer and compromise valuable personal and/or mission critical data.
The “Right Click” consumer protection and awareness campaign is directed at those who surf the Internet. It seeks to educate computer users on how to become responsible Internet users, protect themselves from the very real threats that exist on line and to respect intellectual property rights.
The Thailand chapter of the BSA “Right Click” campaign was launched at a press conference in Bangkok on 28th April 2006. The press conference involved specialists speaking on issues of copyright and the various threats and precautions one can take in countering such threats on the Internet. BSA is partnered in this campaign by the Department of Special Investigation, Thai Internet Service Provider Association, and Internet Foundation for the Development of Thailand with support from www.tarad.com, www.thaisecondhand.com and www.pramool.com.
