Between 1994 and 2002, piracy rates in the Latin American region dropped 23 points, from 78% to 55%. Guatemala had the largest drop, 33 points, from 94% in 1994 to 61% in 2002. Ecuador dropped 31 points, from 90% in 1994 to 59% in 2002. El Salvador decreased its piracy rate 29 points, from 97% in 1994 to 68% in 2002. Brazil and Mexico, the two largest countries in the region, declined 22 and 23 points, respectively.
