The piracy rate in the Asia/Pacific region improved by 13 points. Japan had the largest drop in piracy in the Asia/Pacific region, declining 31 points, from 66% piracy in 1994 to 35% in 2002. Taiwan followed with a 29 point drop, from 72% in 1994 to 43% in 2002. China’s piracy rate showed modest improvement. Its rate changed only five points, from 97% in 1994 to 92% in 2002.
