Background

Since the dawn of the Internet, technological innovation and software advances have made a significant impact on our lives. With new information technologies (IT) making waves every day, businesses, governments and the public are able to communicate and function with the utmost convenience. It is essential for innovation to continue to be sustained through collaborative efforts of consumers, businesses and governments. Innovation is the key to future economic growth and success.

The inaugural Asia Innovation Forum 2007, organized by the Business Software Alliance (BSA), the Federation of Korean Information Industries (FKII) and the Korea Forum of Chief Information Officers (CIO Forum), will bring together a host of international experts, speakers and specially invited participants to share their views and perspectives relating to how governments and industry can promote economic growth with IT innovation through sound policy and initiatives in such areas as intellectual property rights, procurement, standards and R&D.

Reaching out to industry leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, researchers and academics to participate from China, Japan, Korea, and other leading Asian economies, this Forum will discuss the future of innovation in Asia and elsewhere on the globe, and address some of the key underlying policy issues and considerations related to the development of a competitive IT industry. Bringing a wide range of speakers and panelists from Asia, Europe and the United States together at this event with a regional audience, the Forum will focus on the significance of innovation and competitiveness in markets.

The Asia Innovation Forum 2007 offers influential leaders from government, the private sector and the academic community the opportunity to exchange ideas and strategies for future growth.
