 Taiwan Tech Summit

An Era of Innovation – The Future of Taiwan’s High-Tech Industries

Introduction
According to an IDC survey conducted amongst CEOs of BSA members such as Microsoft, Autodesk, Adobe, etc., the top ten technologies predicted in the next decade will be: wireless networks, web services, XML, security and digital right management, nanotechnology, vast networks of small sensors, real-time communications, grid and distributed computing, collaboration technology, and voice-over-internet technology. Software will be the main driving force of future technological development.

To date, Taiwan has played an important role in the world IT industry. As competition grows, IT companies will be constantly challenged by the demands of innovation and the change of business models. To explore Taiwan’s continued competitive advantage in this sector, the Common Wealth Magazine and the Business Software Alliance (BSA) have jointly invited opinion leaders in the Taiwan IT industry and representatives of Korea’s high-tech industries to exchange views and experiences at a Tech Summit on April 20th, 2004.
